About Us

Started in 1981, The Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama School of Nursing, Vrindavan is duly recognised by the U.P. State Medical Faculty and the Indian Nursing Council. It follows the syllabus, rules and regulations prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council for three years General nursing and midwifery diploma course. A maximum of 30 girls are admitted in a single batch every year. The school provides free education, board and lodging to all its students. The medium of instructions is English. Students passing out from this institution are eligible to work any where in the country and abroad.

The motto of the sevashrama is service to man is service to god, thus serving the patients with the spirit of devotion and commitment regardless of caste, creed or religion. Hence the school trains the students to acquire knowledge, develop skills and positive attitude and enable them to carry out duties as competent, efficient professional nurses with the above ideal.

The vision is based on the underlying motto of the Sevashrama is ‘Serving Man is Serving God’. This envisages serving the patients with the spirit of devotion and commitment, regardless of their caste, creed, status or religion. Hence, besides training the students to acquire knowledge and develop skills, and positive attitude to carry out their duties as competent professional nurses. And To foster synergy and integration between research, education and practice by promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and partnership.

Philosophy

  • The School of Nursing believes that the basic course in Nursing is a formal education preparation for which should be based on educational principles.

​History

The School of Nursing established in year 1981 with an ideology proposed by philanthropic leader Swami Vivekananda i.e. SERVICE TO MAN IS SERVICE TO GOD under the umbrella of Ramakrishna mission Sevashrama having its headquarters at Belur Math, offers diploma in nursing to meet the diverse needs of the health care sector. Previously the school of nursing, which used to admit every year 20 unmarried female students of age 17-35, admits 30 students per year from 2015 onwards. The School of Nursing of the Hospital is 38 years old, and has a well-known reputation for producing very efficient and well trained nurses. It is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and Uttar Pradesh State Medical Faculty, Lucknow. Qualified and experienced nursing faculty full-time provides the right mix of inputs comprising of theoretical, practical and clinical experience.
