Lamp lighting ceremony

The Oath-taking ceremony, also known as Lamp Lighting Ceremony, of the 41st Batch of Nursing Students & Annual Day Celebration of the School of Nursing, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Vrindaban were held on Wednesday, 28th December, 2022 from 3:30 pm onwards at the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium of our Sevashrama.

The Guest of Honour Dr. Seema Jangid, Principal, Ravi School of Nursing, Agra inspired the students and stressed the need for professionalism and dedication in nursing. Srimat Swami Satyeshanandajee Maharaj, Asst. General Secretary of Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Belur math, West Bengal presided over the function. Maharaj, in his motivational speech, inspired the students and emphasized the need for good character while appealing one and all to do their duty with an attitude of service, love and care in the light of the life of Florence Nightingale (The “Lady with the Lamp” who served as the First Professional Nurse in the Crimean War).

The fresh batch of students lit candles and took Oath of Service preceded by Vedic chanting. Refreshments were served to all the guests and students after the Ceremony.

On this occasion, Scholarships worth Rs. 3,41,000/- were distributed among top six nursing students of the fresh batch and three top among 1st year Nursing students by the courtesy of Shobha Anil Bisaria Charitable Trust, Hyderabad. Apart from this, prizes were distributed to the toppers in their classes for best academic performance, extracurricular activities and Value Education for this academic year.

On the same day, the students of School of Nursing and Staff nurses of the Hospital celebrated the Annual Day with performance of various cultural programmes.
