29 August, 2023
There was heavy rainfall in the months of July and August in Northern India, which affected Vrindaban and nearby areas badly as the dams released the water, and Vrindaban being a very congested place now there is no outlet once the water gets assimilated in the low lying areas. We at Vrindaban Ashrama immediately started relief work in the form of distribution of cooked food at noon and milk with sweet bun & biscuits in the evening. Nearly 200 people whose houses were drowned in water took refuge at our Old Ashrama premises at Vrindaban. We took a survey in the first week of August and found that there was no significant decrease in the water level, thereby demanding need for dry ration items distribution so that the affected people may prepare their daily food. We are happy to inform you the Dry Food Ration distribution to 920 families among the hungry poor and needy people in different places, with each family consisting of average 5 to 6 members.
